About The Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding Venue

14771 Spruce Mountain Road, Larkspur, Colorado 80118

Spruce Mountain Ranch has spent years leading the way in agriculture. The property dates back to 1871, when it served as a dairy farm that grew oats, millet, and hay. Throughout the decades, the property went through a number of changes, housing a State Senator as well as a long-term County Commissioner. In 1999, the farm was sold to Tom and Lois Ames, who set apart 100 acres for a housing development before renovating the rest. Today, they focus on sustainable cattle raising with a purebred Angus seed stock operation renowned for their superior products. When they aren’t busy tending to the herds, they work with couples from across the country, helping them plan unforgettable weddings with the picture-perfect farm as their backdrop.

Details of the Grounds

Spruce Mountain Ranch has been thoughtfully renovated to give you lovely settings for every second of your celebration. The morning of your wedding will begin on-site in their designated get-ready spaces. Brides will have access to Ruby’s Cottage, where they can put on all the finishing touches before raising a glass with their wedding party. Meanwhile, grooms can head across the courtyard to Albert’s Lodge. This cozy space is outfitted with leather furniture, a small cocktail bar, and a big screen above the fireplace. It is the ideal spot for shaking away all of the nerves!

Once it is time for your wedding ceremony, you will have several Spruce Mountain Ranch sites you can choose from. Every location has been carefully chosen to give you the best views around! One of my favorite options is Grace’s Chapel. This outdoor site is located just outside of Ruby’s Cottage with a lush, shady tree that will serve as your altar. Meanwhile, your guests will be seated in wooden pews, matching the vibes of the garden church. For those who want to get a little closer to the mountains, you can choose the Mountainside Ceremony site.

As you tie the knot, you will have the green pastures just beyond your altar with the Rocky Mountains showing off in the backdrop. For those who would prefer something covered, the Aspen Room is an amazing option! This open-air space features towering wooden walls with mountain views just outside. The door is also retractable, so you can open or close it as needed.

Moving On To Cocktails And Receptions

While there are several spots where you can host your cocktail hour, the Ponderosa Room Courtyard tends to be a favorite. This paved area features landscaping on one side and open mountain views on the other. Small trees have been planted throughout the area with bistro lights adding illumination as the sun goes down.

Once it’s time for your reception, you will have several options. If you are looking for an outdoor space for an intimate garden party, the Lakeview Terrace is for you. Nestled beneath a pavilion, this is a fabulous space to share a meal together with your closest friends and family members. Larger outdoor receptions can use Albert’s Lodge Courtyard. Once your guests have finished their meal, you can step down a few steps and dance for hours beneath the string lights. Indoor receptions can either take place in the quaint Spruce Room or the spacious Ponderosa Room. Both of these spaces have been outfitted with wooden walls and cathedral ceilings. The elegant yet rustic vibes are ideal for practically every wedding style! With room for up to 500 guests, Spruce Mountain Ranch is an amazing option for celebrations of all sizes.

Photography Opportunities

While every inch of Spruce Mountain Ranch is picture-perfect, there are a few spots that have become portrait favorites. Ames Patio on the Lower Ranch features an artificial waterfall surrounded by stones and mindful landscaping. From couples’ portraits to individual pictures, it is ready for everything. The venue also features private lakes, dense forests, and scenic overlooks. No matter the season, you are going to have a backdrop celebrating the beauty of Colorado.
