About The Manor House Wedding Venue
1 Manor House Road, Littleton, Colorado 81027
The Manor House is a wedding venue that dates all the way back to 1914, when John Charles Shaffer purchased 2,660 acres out in the Littleton countryside. After they settled the property, he and his wife named it Ken-Caryl Ranch to honor their sons, Kent and Carroll. John went straight to work designing a colonial house that cost a staggering $100,000 at the time. He chose the highest point of the property to build, ensuring that his family would have the best views. Once the house was established, it would go on to host prominent guests, including Theodore Roosevelt. Today, it continues to serve as a space where legendary people can stop in and have a celebration they will never forget.

Details of the Grounds
These days, The Manor House operates as a full-service wedding venue ready to help you have your perfect celebration. The morning of your wedding day, you will have access to Kent Cottage, where you can get ready ahead of your ceremony. This vintage-inspired space is bright and sunny with clean white walls, brass mirrors, and windows that let in lots of natural light. This is the perfect spot to sit back with your besties, take some candid portraits, and raise a glass to the day ahead!

The exterior of the home is ideal for your ceremony. The venue has set up a lawn overlooking green fields. On clear days, you can get one of the best views of Denver just behind your altar. Your guests can take in the views before it’s time to make your dramatic entrance, walking down the paved path. The venue has surrounded the altar space with ornamental grasses, and you can bring in flowers for some extra color. No matter what you do, however, the site will look downright divine!

For your cocktail hour, your guests can head to the wrap-around porch, where they can enjoy drinks with a view. If you would like, you can set up yard games in the surrounding grass.
Finally, you can head inside the mansion with your guests for your reception. The home has a large ballroom with towering white walls and wooden beams that run across the cathedral ceilings. There is a fireplace with a crown molding mantle just behind the head table. Many couples choose to add flowers or neon lights to completely personalize it. With open floor plans and customizable layouts, you will have more than enough space for up to 200 guests.
The venue has a circular driveway just outside the doors. Your guests will be able to line up on the front porch and give you a send-off you will treasure for the rest of your life!

Photography Opportunities
There’s so much to love about The Manor House, but the endless wedding photo opportunities may be my favorite. The get-ready spaces are thoughtfully designed to provide a simple yet refined backdrop—perfect for capturing candid moments—while vintage-inspired furnishings offer beautiful options for posed portraits. When it’s time for individual portraits, the manor itself opens up a world of possibilities, with countless stunning locations throughout. The grand staircase is always a standout, offering the perfect moment to showcase the full drama of your gown’s train.

The private road leading to the venue is one of the most beautiful locations for first-look photos. Surrounded by open fields with sweeping views toward the Rocky Mountains, it offers a quiet, intimate setting to share this special moment together in nature.

Once it’s time for your couple’s portraits, the front steps of the house are a fabulous option. The towering columns add the right amount of drama while the grandeur of the house peeks in the background. Many couples also love heading inside to use the library for these pics. No matter which location you choose, you’re sure to have gorgeous images you’ll be excited to display.
